Inner Compass Collective

Born from friendship. Built for healing. Made for Community.

Who we are

Inner Compass Collective was born because Jenny, Gabriela, and Crystal all felt the same tug on their hearts; a call to create a space intentionally designed for healing, inside and out. They imagined a place where mind and body could reconnect under one roof, where clients could get trusted recommendations from people who genuinely care, and where wellness felt less like a chore and more like a community you actually want to be part of.

Gabriela, Crystal, and Jenny also wanted to build a workplace that people are excited to join - and even more excited to stay. After years spent in industries that left them feeling undervalued, overworked, or politely ignored, they knew they could do better. They are three determined, driven, highly skilled women who know exactly what they bring to the table as individuals… and how unstoppable they are when they pull their chairs up together. Inner Compass Collective reflects that: a practice built on respect, growth, and the belief that no one should have to navigate the unknown alone.

As friends, Crystal, Jenny, and Gabriela lead with honesty, humor, and the kind of vulnerability that makes even life’s most chaotic plot twists feel a little more survivable. Understanding that life’s challenges feel more manageable when shared in community, they have supported one another through all sorts of circumstances where shame, negative self-talk, or societal expectations could have felt insurmountable. They’ve proven it to each other through parenthood, career pivots, going back to school as full-grown adults, and the brave work of figuring out what they want, then deciding they deserve it. Each of them has stared into the unknown and chosen self‑love and courage anyway. In doing so, they have broken cycles, rewritten stories, and become trailblazers. All the while laughing together and finding the humor and lessons in it all.

They were meant to find each other and meant to arrive here together. Inner Compass Collective is the result: a space shaped by friendship, fueled by purpose, and grounded in the belief that healing is a journey best taken with people who cheer for you, challenge you, and occasionally remind you to drink water. Their hope is that Inner Compass Collective becomes a steady companion on your path - a place where clients feel part of something bigger, and where therapists feel supported, valued, and truly at home.

Crystal Boutwell

Founding Partner & Director of Collective Systems and Development

Crystal has spent more than two decades building the kinds of systems that make organizations run smoother, faster, and with far fewer “Wait… how do we do this again?” moments. Her career has taken her through medical administration, compliance, quality assurance, workflow design, and every flavor of operational problem solving imaginable. No matter the industry, her through line has always been the same: create processes that are clear, teachable, efficient, and flexible enough to grow with the people who use them. If there’s a way to streamline it, organize it, color code it, or make it make sense, she’s already on it - and 100% enjoying herself.

Professionally, she’s known for building systems that feel intuitive rather than intimidating, and for translating complex requirements into workflows that boots on the ground, day-to-day users can actually follow. She believes good systems send you in the right direction and not leave you going in circles. Crystal brings a Lean Six Sigma mindset to Inner Compass Collective, ensuring that every process, from scheduling to communication, to client onboarding, is thoughtful, efficient, and centered on the client experience. At Inner Compass Collective, she works behind the scenes to make sure clients feel cared for from the moment they reach out.

Personally, Crystal is a devoted mother of three and married her high school sweetheart, Ben, who still makes her laugh and still lets her quote movies at him with zero warning. (She speaks in movie references the way some people speak in metaphors.) When she’s not organizing something, she’s reading a thriller or mystery novel, baking sourdough, or cooking for the people she loves. The kitchen is her creative studio, her therapy, and her love language all at once.

She’s also a passionate advocate for LGBTQIA rights, women’s rights, and accessible mental healthcare; especially for new moms, veterans, and survivors of intimate partner abuse. Her work is fueled by the belief that everyone deserves support, safety, and systems that don’t make life harder than it already is.

At home, she finds joy in watching her kids grow into their own identities and in getting to know her husband at every new stage of life. And when she’s not doing any of that, she’s daydreaming about her travel list - Yosemite at the top for U.S. trips, Ireland at the top for international ones.

Crystal brings all of this - her operational brain, her big heart, her humor, her advocacy, and her lived experience to Inner Compass Collective. She believes healing and growth are easier and sustainable when the path is clear, the people are kind, and the systems actually work.

Jenny Janes Bailey

MA, LMHC, NCC

Founding Partner | Clinical Operations Director | Therapist

Inner Compass Collective was born from a shared belief that health and wellness should be rooted in humanity, collaboration, and genuine care; for both the people seeking support and the professionals providing it. Jenny felt called to help build something different: a sustainable, community‑centered space where clinicians can do meaningful work without losing themselves in the process. What makes this Collective so special to her isn’t just the mission, it’s the partnership that brought it to life. Together, she, Gaby, and Crystal realized they weren’t just imagining a better way of doing this work; they were ready to build it.

For Jenny, Inner Compass Collective represents a commitment to reshaping the culture of wellness through connection, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves to be truly seen and supported. Creating this practice alongside Gaby and Crystal has been one of the most meaningful chapters of her life. It reflects her long‑held conviction that the way we care for people matters just as much as the care itself.

Jenny’s journey into this field has taken many forms, but the heart of it has always been the people who shaped and inspired her along the way, especially Crystal and Gaby.

She met Crystal in 2016, when both were navigating demanding roles that left them overworked and uncertain of what came next. Working for two attorneys in the same practice, they ended up teaching themselves every task on the fly, a direct result of employers who were too short‑sighted and detached from daily operations to notice that their teams were left undervalued, overworked, and miserable. Many lunches and much dark humor later, they sensed change on the horizon. Crystal looked at Jenny and said, “I feel like a big shift coming,” and she was right. Not too long after, Crystal would leave the practice on a path that provided skills she employs to this day, and Jenny wasn’t far behind after having applied and been accepted to grad school, where her true calling was found as a therapist. Finally clearing the fog around a natural inclination and talent for listening, hearing, and supporting others. Their friendship grew through shared humor, grit, and the quiet understanding that something needed to change. Crystal’s warmth, integrity, and resilience stood out immediately. Despite the mistreatment she endured in past environments, she chose compassion over cynicism, expanding her heart instead of hardening it. Her strength, creativity, and unwavering care continue to be a lighthouse for Jenny and so many others.

Jenny met Gaby in 2018 on their first day as graduate students at Rollins College. Gaby walked up with her signature confidence asked if they were in the same program and then said, “Good, because we’re going to be good friends. Gaby couldn’t have been more right. From the beginning, Jenny and Gaby challenged the standards in their curriculum.  They both felt a need to not just complete the prescribed assignments and courses, but to add their own flair to them.  Both felt called to challenge the traditional boundaries of the field so therapy could feel more inclusive, transparent, and human and ultimately minimize the perception that therapy was rigid and closed off. They believed that even small, thoughtful moments of self‑disclosure could build trust, reduce shame, and help clients show up as their full selves. This curiosity would help deepen the belief that therapy could be more authentic, connected, and transformative than the systems they had experienced. Their bond grew through shared purpose, curiosity, and a mutual commitment to meaningful, lasting change.  As they moved closer to graduation and dug deeper into becoming the kind of therapists they envisioned, they realized that growth required dismantling old narratives... including their own. Letting go of ego, perfectionism, and outdated expectations became part of their personal and professional evolution. That process connected them in a way that made them true grad‑school battle buddies. Jenny often shares how Gaby’s fearlessness encouraged her to embrace her own inquisitive, status‑quo‑challenging nature. Their shared tenacity may have ruffled a few feathers along the way, but it also left a legacy for the students who came after them. More importantly, it gave them both the comfort of knowing that whatever adventures lie ahead, there is safety, and strength, in facing them together.

These friendships and the values they embody are woven into the foundation of Inner Compass Collective. They remind Jenny that growth happens through connection, courage, and community. Inner Compass Collective is the result of that shared vision: born from friendship, built for healing, and made for the people who will find their way here.  What we’re creating is more than a practice - it’s a shared belief that when people are supported, respected, and trusted to follow their inner compass, incredible things can happen.

The right belief is like a good cloak, I think. If it fits you well, it keeps you warm and safe. The wrong fit however, can suffocate.

Gabriela Rodriguez Soto

MA, LMHC, NCC

Founding Partner | Director of Clinical Training and Development | Therapist

Gabriela has spent her career at the intersection of clinical care and thoughtful leadership, shaping environments where both clinicians and clients can genuinely thrive. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and co‑founder of Inner Compass Collective, she brings together clinical expertise, mentorship, and a gift for building systems that help clinicians feel supported rather than stretched thin.

But for Gabriela, Inner Compass Collective is more than a practice. It’s the culmination of years spent imagining what mental health care could look like when the people doing the work are cared for just as intentionally as the people receiving it. It’s a place built on shared values, deep friendship, and a belief that community is one of the most powerful tools we have in healing.

Her journey into leadership has always been rooted in curiosity and care. Throughout her career, Gabriela naturally stepped into roles as a culture shaper, mentor, and practice builder. She loves helping clinicians understand not just the how of therapy, but the why behind the systems that support their work; everything from documentation, workflows, and consultation structures to the small, thoughtful guides that make the day‑to‑day feel less overwhelming. Gabriela’s philosophy is simple: when expectations are transparent, systems are teachable, and leadership is approachable, clinicians are far more likely to succeed and feel good about the work they’re doing. Working across a variety of mental health settings gave her a clear view of the challenges many clinicians quietly carry: demanding caseloads, documentation pressures, and the emotional weight of the work itself. While many of these pressures come from the realities of insurance and healthcare systems, Gabriela believes practices have a responsibility to create cultures where clinicians can speak honestly about challenges, learn from one another, and feel safe asking questions without fear of judgment.

At Inner Compass Collective, she brings a visionary approach to building a practice culture that reflects the same values therapists encourage in their clients: self‑awareness, flexibility, and sustainable boundaries. Gabriela believes clinicians deserve clarity around their caseload goals, the freedom to work in ways that support their well‑being, and leadership that is transparent, human, and genuinely invested in their growth. Her leadership style centers on clear guidance, collaborative problem‑solving, and creating a workplace where people feel both supported and trusted.

What makes Inner Compass Collective especially meaningful to Gabriela is the friendship at its foundation. Building this practice alongside Crystal and Jenny has helped solidify their shared vision - to create a community where clinicians feel safe to grow and clients feel deeply cared for.  This founding principle has been woven into every decision, every system, every conversation.

Outside of her professional life, Gabriela is endlessly curious about the world. She loves reading epic fantasy novels, exploring astronomy and ancient history, and getting lost in a good video game. She believes adults forget how important play is, and that curiosity and creativity are some of the best ways we learn about ourselves and each other. Like many people with ADHD, she collects hobbies the way others collect souvenirs - crocheting, painting, pottery, and whatever new craft sparks her interest next. She may not keep every hobby forever, but she delights in the process of trying something new simply because it’s interesting. At home, she shares life with her Great Pyrenees, Olaf; a gentle giant who takes his role as household supervisor very seriously and provides a steady stream of comedic relief and endless affection.

Gabriela brings her leadership, curiosity, humor, and passion for equitable workplaces into the foundation of Inner Compass Collective. She believes healing becomes more sustainable when communities are collaborative, leadership is transparent, and the structures behind the scenes support the people doing the work, not the other way around. Inner Compass Collective is her way of helping build that kind of community, one where clinicians feel empowered and clients feel genuinely seen and is, in many ways, a reflection of Gabriela at her core: thoughtful, warm, a little playful, and committed to doing things with intention..
